Blue Ridge Hockey Conference

On Saturday, April 13, 2013, the Washington Capitals, in conjunction with USA Hockey, will host the 7th-annual Caps College Hockey Fair. As part of the event the Capitals are offering an educational opportunity for local hockey coaches to learn from current college coaches.

BRHC teams and league officials will be available to speak to prospective players and parents.  Please contact BRHC Coach-in-Chief Steve Hyjek for more information.

College Coaching Clinic

The Capitals, along with NCAA guest coaches from Neumann University, Castleton College and SUNY Potsdam, will provide a three-hour coaching clinic available to all USA Hockey registered coaches. The clinic takes place on Saturday, April 13, from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Verizon Center prior to the College Fair. To register, please send an email to youthhockey@washcaps.comrequesting a registration form.

The cost for the clinic is $50 for attendance.

As an incentive to encourage players to register and attend the College Fair, the Capitals will refund the $50 registration fee for the Coaching Clinic for each coach who has 10 or more players in attendance at the Fair - players can register here.

Commissioners & Club Presidents

As an added incentive to the coaches and players to encourage participation at this free event, the organization (defined as a Club, team or Association – not a League) which has the highest number of registered attendees will be awarded a practice session next season conducted for a team of their choice by Craig Laughlin (Caps Alum and CSN color commentator) and Michael Fox (Head Coach, US Naval Academy – ACHA Division 1).
